This isn't a typical podcast. It's just a little show, recorded in the great outdoors. Hosted by Cait Flanders (author of Adventures in Opting Out + The Year of Less), each week we'll head outside and explore our inner worlds. See you out there, friend.
007. Your Needs Are Your Needs
A short episode this week, with an example of what it looks like for me to honour what I need. Plus, do you have a question for me? I will be compiling some for a future Q&A episode!
Note: I'm a big fan of keeping my content clean (aka free of ads/sponsors) so we can enjoy the full experience. If you find calm, joy, or inspiration from my work, you can always buy me a coffee to say thanks + support the show: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/caitflanders
006. How Are Your Friendships?
How have your friendships changed? This is a topic that has come up in countless conversations over the last year—and so I thought I would share a few of my own thoughts and experiences with you. At the end, I offer up a new question you might consider asking a loved one the next time you talk.
005. Questions I Ask Myself
It's pouring rain here on the "wet" coast of Canada, and I'm standing under a tree... sharing my favourite journal prompts with you. What a way to end this week/month. :)
004. In the Company of Books
We're doing something a little different today! Hanging out in my bedroom, and discussing the books that have kept me company this year. There have been many, so here's a shorter list of some of my favourites, along with a few quotes/poems. Enjoy!
003. An Unintentional Opt-Out
I've wanted to write about this at various times, but the words didn't come to me until now. This is a reflection on how I've adapted, softened, and allowed myself to change, during this unintentional opt-out we've been living through. Plus, a question to journal on at the end.
002. It's Nice to Meet You (Again)
It's a beautiful thing, to allow yourself to evolve. To challenge yourself to grow and change. And as a creator, to allow your content to grow and change with you. This is a look back at who I have been, and who I am in this moment.
Cait Flanders is the gift that keeps giving
This podcast is gold. I was sold as soon as I heard the background with nature. Adding in Cait’s soothing voice and honest thoughts is a winning combination. I love that the podcast is so pure... no strategy, no pressure, no production, no hype. Just slow living and thought-provoking dialogue. She is truly SHOWING us how to opt out. I will be here for all of it.
Calming, thoughtful, real
I find myself slowing down or stopping altogether when I’m listening to this. Love the little pauses where you can almost hear Cait think and the background nature-noise. Feels like a genuine conversation.
A Chat with a Friend
It really does feel very intimate. Just a one on one conversation with Cait. A nice slow pace and time out of the quick paced perfection elsewhere on the internet. Looking forward to seeing where Cait goes with it.
