Darrell "DC" Chan Returns To The Pod and Talks Babe Ruth Goudey Pick-Up, Mind of a Vendor/Dealer at Card Shows, Flipping Strategy; Plus Which Baseball Cards to Sell/Hold Based on Player's Slow Start
EPISODE 213 - Clark and Hyung open the show by talking about some baseball players who have had a slow start or another injury and whether their rookie cards are a buy/sell/hold at the moment. Players discussed include Jackson Holliday, Jackson Chourio, Bo Bichette, and Mike Trout.
Then Clark welcomes Darrell "DC" Chan back to the podcast to talk about his experience as a vendor/dealer at the recent Sport Card Expo in Toronto as well as his preparation plans for The National coming up in July.
Clark also asks DC about his thought process whenever someone comes up to him asking to buy or trade, and what kind of cards he usually looks for.
Then Clark plays a DC-version of Pick 1 to wrap up the show posing hypothetical trades 1v1 for his recently acquired Babe Ruth 1933 Goudey.

Game Worn Cards Way Too Gimmicky?; Brainstorming More "Just A Thought" Hobby Ideas; Small Giveaway for Podcast Listeners!
EPISODE 212 - Clark flies solo for this Friday episode and talks about the game worn cards introduced by PSA where Bobby Witt Jr. and Corbin Carroll put baseball cards in their uniform pockets and then signs it after the game. PSA then slabs it afterward. Is this cool or too gimmicky?
Then Clark pitches a couple more ideas to make the hobby more fun or interesting including a one-of-a-kind souvenir/baseball card for anyone who catches a home run ball at a MLB game.

Rundown of Hobby News Items (ie. Fanatics Signing EPL Deal; $2 Million Worth of Vintage Cards Stolen; Pete Rose Retrofractor Autograph Cards); Is $3,000 Victor Wembanyama Topps Now Card a Good Deal?
EPISODE 211 - Clark and Hyung start the show by discussing the Victor Wembanyama Topps Now card sold for $3,000 each for at least a black parallel /99 on-card autograph with a chance of hitting a 1/1 gold autograph with a special "Rookie of the Year" inscription. Is it worth the chase and is this the future direction of Topps Now cards?
Then for Hobby Headlines, the guys give their first take on several recent hobby news items including the Fanatics' deal with the English Premier League to produce licensed soccer cards in 2025, the $2 million worth of vintage cards stolen at an Ohio hotel, and the Pete Rose retrofractor autograph cards in 2024 Bowman.
Then Clark plays Over/Under with Hyung to see if he can guess the price of some of the hits in 2024 Bowman baseball set sold recently.

More Fanatics Fest Events Good for the Hobby?; Other Product Release News from Topps Industry Conference; Playing Another Fun Round of Quiz Show!
EPISODE 210 - Clark and John open the show by talking about some MLB baseball players having a photo of their baseball card from 2024 Topps Series 1 on their bat knob. Topps announced shortly after that those bat knobs would be used in a 1/1 autograph card. They discuss if it's cool, too gimmicky or both.
Then for Hobby Headlines, the guys go into Part 2 of the news announced recently from this year's Topps Industry Conference including the new Fanatics Fest events taking place in Pittsburgh and Orlando.
They also give their takes on some product release announcements including the 1955 Bowman Anime case hits as part of their 2024 Bowman set, Topps Composite Football 2023, and Topps Transcendent being reconfigured into a smaller product with more variety.
Then Clark tests John in a Hobby Quiz Show to see if he could name the top answers on the board – Familiy Feud style.

Will the Return of Topps Chrome Basketball Have Same Prestige with Unlicensed Product?; Other Product Release News from 2024 Topps Industry Conference
EPISODE 209 - Clark and John get right into the Friday episode by starting the discussion on all the announcements from the recent 2024 Topps Industry Conference.
First, they give their thoughts on the return of Topps Chrome Basketball this summer, which will feature unlicensed cards (ie. no team logos) but it will contain autographs of superstar players like Victor Wembanyama, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry to name a few.
Will the unlicensed product still have the same wide appeal simply because it's released by Topps or will it be undervalued similar to other unlicensed sets like Panini Baseball or Leaf autograph cards?
They also touch upon where the MLB Debut Patch cards will be for the top rookies who made their debut this year including Jackson Chourio and Jackson Holliday.

Interview With Jenny Marie Sports Cards on Her Return to the Hobby, Growing her IG to 3,000 followers, Providing a Female Voice in the Hobby; Plus Highlighting The Top Goldin 100 Auction Items

Meh
As others have said, they are kids figuring it out. It’s worth listening to what they have to say as they probably have the pulse of other young bros with a little experience and entry level cash are thinking. So, still it’s like like like like fun. They like the word like, like, a lot.

I have been searching for some new sports card podcasts. This one is very similar to the rest, same commentary and talking points as a 1000 other podcasts. These guys are obviously younger, because every other word is “like”. Don’t think I’ll be a regular.
