The Sacred Feminine with Liz Childs Kelly

The Sacred Feminine with Liz Childs Kelly

Sometimes life makes you pause in profound ways. This is what happened to Liz Childs Kelly, a writer, host of the Home to Her podcast, Sacred Feminine researcher and educator.
At a business conference, Liz stopped in her tracks and made a profound pivot in her life. She left the corporate world of marketing in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to be closer to the land in rural Virginia.
Learn how Liz came to create Home to Her, which is part remembrance, part movement to reclaim the ancestral wisdom of the Sacred Feminine, an ancient spiritual force older than time itself. She believes when we reconnect with this powerful energy, we have the ability to heal ourselves, our communities, and our relationship with our planet.

    More about Liz:

Liz Childs Kelly is a writer, award-winning researcher, educator, community builder, and host of the popular Home to Her podcast, which is dedicated to amplifying the voices of the Sacred Feminine. Her writing has been featured in a variety of online publications, including Forbes, Mashable, Rebelle Society, Human Parts (a Medium publication), and Braided Way, as well as the Girl God Books anthology Just As I Am: Hymns Affirming the Divine Female. An initiated priestess in the 13 Moons lineage, she also holds certifications in Reiki, as well as Vinyasa and Yin Yoga.

Liz lives in rural Virginia with her family, and can often be found exploring the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains or wandering in the woods behind her home.

The future of learning comes from our past

The future of learning comes from our past

We go to schools to train our brains. We go to gyms to train our bodies.  Where do we go to train our emotions? The reality is that we train our emotions on each other. This, however, is changing with a new generation of teachers who integrate social emotional learning and somatic practices into their curriculum.
In this episode, we hear from four teachers who are on the leading edge of education. Their inspirations are both ancestral and science-based. Future generations will have whole new vocabularies and practices to integrate their minds, bodies and hearts. Fortunately, it’s never too late to learn these integrated practices now.
Melorie Serrano Masacupan, M.Ed is a writer coaching founders to tell their stories with her digital growth agency focused on organizational wellness. You can find her @heymelorie on all social platforms and at heymelorie.com.
Jen Wolfe is a biracial Thai American mathematics teacher educator and scholar at the University of Arizona.  You can follow her on Twitter and Instagram, @drjenmathed
Tiffany Chan is a Chinese American educator and visual artist who seeks to build equitable & compassionate learning communities.  You can find her on Instagram @t.chanchan and at www.tiffanychanart.com
Bong Lau (they/them) is a Cantonese somatics and mindfulness coach, singer, and visual artist who lives to cultivate creativity in themselves and others.

Simplicity - The Art of Living and Dying Well with Hospice Nurse Linda Ong

Simplicity - The Art of Living and Dying Well with Hospice Nurse Linda Ong

What does it mean to live and die well?

Death is a topic we don't often talk about, but it's something we all must face.  We decided to ask our friend Linda Ong to share her perspective and experience as a hospice nurse, death doula and sound healer who had to navigate the loss of both her parents.

    More about Linda:

Linda Ong is a holistic registered nurse working in Hospice since 2011 and becoming a Death Doula in 2018.  She specializes in the Art of Living and Dying Well and believes that when we learn to live well, we can also learn to die well.

As a Sound and Energy practitioner, Linda continues to study both Western and Eastern healing philosophies and loves to find ways to incorporate both to help others on their healing journey.  She recommends the book, The Healing Power of Sound, for anyone interested in learning to work with sound.

Celebrating all mothers and mother-like figures with healer Raj Escondo

Celebrating all mothers and mother-like figures with healer Raj Escondo

How do we appreciate the important maternal figures in our lives?
We are joined by Raj Escondo (she/her or they/them) a healing justice practitioner who hosts mother-daughter retreats and supports the integration of body and land for people and organizations.
As we celebrate Mother’s Day in its many forms, we also recognize relationships are not easy. The challenge can allow us to grow like what writer Anais Nin says: “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

Authentic and heartfelt connection

This podcast is one of my favorites! Each episode is a chance to sit down with two down-to-earth, thoughtful individuals and listen to them reflect on nature-inspired themes relevant to day-to-day life. I particularly like the vulnerability and self-reflection that the podcast invokes. It’s rare for a podcast to illicit such vulnerability.

A podcast that walks the talk and is a catalyst for the world

Every episode I’ve listened to so far has provided timely perspective and reflection. Omar and Belinda dialogue with each other at a beautiful pace, leaving room for powerful silence. I feel like I’m in the conversation with them. The artist and community reflections are wonderful too. This podcast has deepened my practice with the GB card deck as well.
