I’ve been listening to Mike’s podcasts for a while and this one is definitely the best! I really enjoy the show
Great show!
Great show! Been catching up on this and it is enjoyable to hear the predictions and reactions from someone who has not read it. I will say a pet peeve is that consistently Hades is referred to as evil. Hades is not inherently evil in mythology. He’s just another one of the gods, for better or for worse.
Shows like disneys Hercules have portrayed him as a bad guy, and there are some interesting analysis of the perception changing with Christianity. People started associating hades, who in Greek mythology was just the ruler of the underworld, not evil, to Satan, ruler of demons and the bad afterlife. Just even in Percy Jackson Hades isn’t any worse than other gods. In fact he’s one of the better ones sometimes? So he’s not one to be mentioned in the same breath as the real bad guys of the series.
Well that was a silly rant and there might be a change as the series goes on. I’m only in the reading of the Titans Curse so we’ll see lol.
Still, great show. Super enjoy
