Relief As A Form Of Grief

Relief As A Form Of Grief

Relief is often overlooked as a valid form of grief.

We are taking a deep dive into this one in this episode.

✅ There's no right or wrong way to grieve our abusive family members. Each of us will have our own response to their abuse, manipulation and abandonment.

✅ For some of us, cutting off from them may feel more like a gain than a loss, leaving some of us feeling inappropriately guilty and confused.

✅ When we are grieving a family member who made our life nothing short of a living hell, it's very normal to feel relief when we cut off from them.

✅ Reasons we feel relief or "absent grief."

✅ Taking guilt out of relief.

✅ Don't compare your grief to societal or anyone else's projected standards.

A Game changer! Jaw dropping truth is spoken here!

When I first stumbled upon this podcast, I could not believe what I was hearing! It was everything I needed, finally, a voice, validating everything I have gone through since my childhood. Every episode speaks my truth, validates my feelings, an answers the hundreds of questions I have asked myself. Before finding this podcast, I was so confused, alienated, and nothing made sense. Now having listened to this entire series up to this point, the weight has been lifted, the truth is so clear and it all makes sense. All the pieces of the puzzle fit! And the gift of freedom from this toxicity is right in front of me. I am on the path and because of this podcast I have the courage and feel so empowered! So thankful for this!

Essential to going no contact

Going no contact with toxic family is one of the hardest things you can do. It’s agonizing, but this podcast walks you through every step. For many of us it’s the first time anyone has validated our emotions and experiences. I will be listening to this not just once, but multiple times because of the strength it’s given me.
