Today, we sat down with Tim Tyler, a realist oil painter based in San Miguel de Allende with a passion for subtle narratives and wide ranges of subject matter, from portraits to landscapes to figurative to still lifes. In this episode, we discuss Tim's perspectives on the realist art movement today and art history, the importance of creative work rather than formulaic painting, and why it's important to break away from societal expectations on art and appreciate paintings from both a technical and intellectual level. He also reminds us that it's good to specialize in your subject matter of choice, and also reminds us of the value of failure and why pushing your own boundaries can help you grow and improve at your craft. Finally, Tim invites us to check out his workshops in San Miguel de Allende!

Just keeps getting better
Great guests, great interview’s! The interviewer is a joy and is getting better and better with her questions and insights.
Interviewer is too young for this job
I can tell that the amazing and mature artists that are being interviewed are often cringing inside because the interviewer is not capable of understanding some of the complexities of the conversations. It's not her fault. She is just too young for this position. Not enough life experience. Not sure how she got this position but there are soooooo many other people who could carry these conversations soooo much better and who would represent the bold brush name better. I remember way back hearing an interviewer. He was fabulous. They should get him back. Don't remember the episode. I just can't listen anymore. I can't even understand some of the things she says because of how fast she speaks. Overall she sounds like a little girl. PLEASE get another more mature interviewer!
Unsubscribed
This could have been a good podcast for marketing ideas and such, but unfortunately the female host was too annoying for me in her speaking style. From the use of “Jesus Christ” or “Jesus” frequently as exclamations and the infamous “like,…”, I just couldn’t do it. Maybe she’s related to the FASO owner and can’t be replaced.
