Episode 39: “Monkey Man and Bastard Must Get Along!” | Denji Sentai Megaranger | Ft. Kaiju Kim

Episode 39: “Monkey Man and Bastard Must Get Along!” | Denji Sentai Megaranger | Ft. Kaiju Kim

The Queen of the Fabulous Empire, YouTuber extraordinaire, Kaiju Kim, returns to help the boys discuss the Sentai that became her favorite Power Rangers season: Denji Sentai Megaranger. What’s ironic is this Sentai feels more like a classic PR season while its counterpart, Power Rangers in Space, feels more like a Sentai. But is it fair to compare these shows when PRIS has the advantages of legacy and finality while Mgearanger is just another Sentai? Can the #BlueWigsAndBlackLeather finally break Sentai’s streak in the “Who did it better?” debate for Nathan? All this plus a thematic discussion of priorities and a “Toku Topic” on why the Japanese love technology in the latest Power Trip!

For those who truly love a deeper look into Power Rangers/Super Sentai

Being honest I wasn’t sold early on. The format was new, not all the jokes hit with me, and I didn’t know if I would stick with it past the early seasons. Incredibly glad I did. They grow more confident in their work. Their discussions while opinionated became not just a couple guys talking about Power Rangers they rewatched to a true journey of experiencing the whole of power rangers, how it relates to Super Sentai, and then delving farther into the comics, and the actual Sentai shows. This podcast became one where I looked forward to more episodes where I can hear true fans talk about what they love, what could have been, and other projects you may not have known about prior. It’s great to hear from others who love all things Tokusatsu. This one earned its 5 stars for me.

Like sitting in on a conversation with old friends.

Been listening since season 1. It’s been a very fun/ enjoyable. Nostalgia is great ( I don’t care what Nathan thinks! 😅 ) I was 3 years old when MMPR first came and it was 100% my favorite thing. I didn’t care about superman, Spider-Man or batman. My heros were Tommy, Jason and the team. I fell off at the end of Lost Galaxy. But I did come back in for Dino Thunder, was nostalgia baited into Megaforce and saw the 2017 Movie the day it came out ( should have been Ernie’s Juice bar NOT Krispy Kreme ).

Now in my 30s married with kids and sadly I have no adult friends to nerd out over Powers Rangers with, this podcast has been like sitting in on a conversation with two old friends. Because of this you guys I introduced my 4 year old son to MMPR and we ended up watching some SPD ( first time for me) together. ALSO I discovered the Audio Drama because of y’all thanks for that.

Much appreciated the enjoyable listen to escape a little bit life’s stresses, revisit some old memories and find some new stuff. Sad the end is near BUT thank you guys for putting in the time and effort. I hope both know you are truly appreciated.
Thank you!

The best podcast!!

Dear Michael and Nathan,

I just started listening about a month ago. This podcast is so entertaining it’s all I can listen to right now. I have been a Power Rangers fan for what feels like my whole life! Keep up the great work! Added bonus Turbo is my favorite series to date. It might be the nostalgia because that’s the first series I can remember watching. Plus to see a kid ranger as a kid was like wow I can be a ranger too. Any way I appreciate you guys making me feel like a kid again thank you both “and may the power protect you”!!

Sincerely - Zach
