    My guest is Suzanne Rose and she is a Sergeant of the Queensland Police Service, having joined in 1998. She was poached by a spotter in recent years, and landed the perfect role for her personality, running professional development workshops for police training facilitators. This includes her favourite signature three-day facilitation skills workshop - 'Facilitate with Flair'.

    Her role has led her to study the craft of facilitation beyond her organisation, and to learn what is best practice based on research from around the world, including studies from the fields of neuroscience and educational psychology. 
    We talk more about her Facilitate with Flair experience and how she navigates the mindset of "doing things differently" when working in an organisation which is hierarchical, and where things are done a certain way.

    Suzanne is committed to transforming aspects of police organisational culture around training. She hopes to reduce the mortality rate with the cause of death being PowerPoint, and actively inspires facilitators to be brave enough to try more engaging and fun ways to deliver their sessions - even the heavy, dry and serious policing topics. 
    Suzanne is a full-time working mum who lives in Brisbane on acreage in koala habitat, with her husband and their two young daughters, a Labrador, pet chicken, and an abundance of wallabies, possums, rainbow lorikeets and kookaburras around their property. She spends any spare time making fun memories with her girls, and can't wait to take them on adventures through far-away lands abroad where nothing is taken for granted.

    Leadership is a very critical role in any organization, and oftentimes the success or failure of one depends largely on the kind of leadership that it has. This is why it is essential that leaders in the modern marketplace be equipped with good and effective coaching skills to develop people and lead more effectively.
     
    The popular rhetoric related to coaching tries to teach leaders to be executive coaches; in contrast to that, our guest today believes that coaching is an essential skill that you can bring in handy at any given time.
     
    Clifford Morgan promotes enhanced leadership by teaching leaders essential coaching skills that will help them develop their people every single day and therefore become more effective as leaders.
     
    He is an organizational psychologist and leadership expert who served for more than fifteen years in the Royal Australian Air Force. As a coach, Clifford has worked with CEOs, Military Officers, Government Executives, and business and community leaders across a wide variety of industries. Earlier his month, he published his newest book “The Coaching Leader”.
     
    I met Clifford in Brisbane, but I really didn’t have an idea about his backstory until I have read it in his book. But today, he’ll share that story with us as well as some few snippets of what his new book, “The Coaching Leader”, contains. 
     
    A lot of community and business leaders out there really has huge potentials. If they could have the right training to acquire the proper coaching skill set that they need, they could unlock their full potential and become even more effective in their organizations.     When you think about paid subscriptions, it's really a question around  what does your future hold? 

    Today on the show it's not really a question I'm exploring, but I'm sharing something behind the scenes of what paid subscriptions I'm m stopping, continuing or starting,  as a result of a recent subscription audit I ran on myself.

    With the SaaS (Software as a Service) f business model, we get sucked into paying a monthly fee. And then I don't know about you, but sometimes then I look at my bank account or read my email and the subscription is ticked over again and I think, am I actually using this?

    I think December is a great time of the year to re-evaluate what you're paying for and make a decision on whether you keep it, or it goes.

     So I think as a good exercise, it's definitely worth going through that.

    Putting ourselves on the receiving end of our own actions helps us rethink the way we’re doing things. We got to be able to take a risk, and not be afraid of it. As our guest today says, if you believe you can do the job, knock your socks off and go for it!
    Today’s guest is all-round legend Tim Guinea. He is a family man and the Founder and Managing Director of Autonomy & Asset Management Group. With more than 15 years’ experience across the mining and resources industry, he is an experienced professional with specialist knowledge across all areas of Asset Management. 
    Tim has worked for, and with, world class mining houses and service providers including Anglo American, Fortescue, Downer EDI and Thiess, starting his career as a Drill Fitter in exploration, to leading teams of professionals to deliver world class outcomes safely, efficiently and on-time across multiple states. He is known for his leadership style and operational expertise, which has seen him improve culture and ultimately the business' performance.
    Outside of business, Tim loves to spend quality time with his family and has 3 children, soon to be 4 early next year. He loves all things outdoors, especially sport, and since retiring from Rugby League has found a passion in Triathlons.
    I met Tim when I was still working at my old company, Thiess; however, I didn’t know about his upbringing on a farm, especially on how that dramatically impacted his work ethic and attitude. So tune in and grab your pen, folks, for in this episode, it’ll all make sense.

    More often than not, we tend to say yes to literally everything as we dive into the depths of doing business. Just because we fear what might happen if we refuse, we even sometimes end up losing ourselves.
