Steve Cavanagh’s hangover sent him to law school.

All the way from Ireland, Steve Cavanagh joins us in the BOTM office to discuss his new thriller, Kill For Me, Kill For You. We discussed where the idea of a murder swap originated, when to get your revenge, and how a hangover sent him to law school.
One dark evening on NYC’s Upper West Side, two strangers meet by chance. Over drinks, they realize how much they have in common, especially loneliness and an intense desire for revenge against the men who destroyed their families. As they talk into the night, they come up with the perfect plan: if you kill for me, I’ll kill for you.

Amy Lin says grief is the final form of love.

Amy Lin says grief is the final form of love.

Amy Lin joins us at the BOTM HQ to discuss her new memoir, Here After. This was such a beautiful and moving conversation about how her late husband inspires her to be brave every day, why grief is the final form of love, and the importance of community during loss.
Amy Lin never expected to find a love like the one she shares with her husband. Here After is a rich and unflinchingly honest portrayal of her life with her late husband, the vortex created by his death, and the ongoing struggle she faces as she attempts to understand her own experience in the context of commonly held “truths” about what the grieving process looks like.

A great way to get introduced to new authors!

This podcast is great for helping me to hear the perspectives of authors on their new releases. I enjoy it!

Why move the podcast?

I love the podcast and have picked up books that I normally wouldn’t after listening. I also think Jerrod and Breanna do a fantastic job as hosts. However, I'm thoroughly annoyed that full episodes of the podcast have moved over to the BOTM app. I subscribe to a lot of podcasts and I think it’s ridiculous to expect me to go to another app to listen to a single podcast. I usually listen to podcasts while driving and the podcast app syncs with my car making it easy for me to navigate, obviously the same can’t be said for BOTM. They really need to reconsider this choice.

Move to app is obnoxious

I’ve been enjoying this podcast since it started but probably won’t listen anymore now that it has moved to the BOTM app. I’m a member and have access but a separate app for a single podcast is super inconvenient and I’m baffled why this was done. No one is going to get a book subscription just to listen to a podcast, so this seems like a much better way to piss off existing members than to get new ones.
