Managing Enteral Access Complications with Leah Hidalgo, RD, LDN
Leah Hidalgo, RD, LDN is a Washington D.C. based Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, who seamlessly transitioned from a successful nursing career to her current role. With a distinctive background that integrates healthcare and nutrition, she has successfully led community-based health initiatives both locally and internationally, collaborating on school nutrition programs to instill healthy eating habits in children and educating women on nutrition and food safety in South American communities. For the past two years, Leah has been at the forefront of oncology nutrition in the nation’s capital, providing vital nutrition support to low-income communities facing challenges with nutrition management and food insecurity. Collaborating with social workers, Leah ensures individuals receive life-sustaining nutrition, including oral nutritional supplements, who either cannot afford them or lack insurance coverage, through grant funded programs. She also orchestrates a grocery program to provide access to healthy foods for individuals undergoing treatment and facing financial constraints. This epsiode is hosted by Christina M. In this episode, we chat with Cynthia Reddick, RD, CNSC. Cynthia is a home tube feeding expert, educator and strategist having worked in homecare for 25 years passionately facilitating patients’ successful transition from hospital to home on tube feeding. She works to promote positive clinical outcomes and believes a patient’s positive relationship with their feeding tube impacts compliance and quality of life. She developed her passion for nutrition support interning at the City of Hope National Medical Center in Southern California. Most recently, she worked for Coram/CVS Specialty Infusion Services as their National Tube Feeding Manager. Presently, she shares her expertise as a consultant in the realm of home tube feeding and enteral innovation. She enjoys presenting round tables, clinical posters, webinars, and case studies on home care tube feeding and has been a guest speaker for ASPEN, the Oley Foundation, CMSA, NHIA, and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics on a variety of topics related to home tube feeding. Andrea Adler, RD, CSPCC, LD, is a board certified specialist in pediatric critical care nutrition and has worked as a Pediatric Dietitian at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital for over 19 years. She’s worked with the neonatal population since 2004 and, about 10 years ago, expanded her practice to include pediatric patients with intestinal failure, liver failure and organ

Travis Masterson, Ph.D., is the Director of the Health, Ingestive Behavior, and Technology Laboratory and the Broadhurst Career Development Professor for the Study of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at The Pennsylvania State University. He
earned his bachelor of science degree in exercise and wellness at Brigham Young University, followed by a master of science degree in health promotion also at Brigham Young University and doctoral degree in nutritional sciences at Pennsylvania State University where he also served as a USDA Childhood Obesity
Prevention Fellow. Dr. Masterson is the recipient of numerous fellowships and grants, and his research focuses primarily on food cue reactivity and how our food environment shapes our food choices and eating behaviors. He uses a variety of novel technologies and methodologies to accomplish this goal,
including Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), immersive virtual reality (VR), and ecological momentary assessment (EMA), a method of research which studies
