Excellent supernatural investigation podcast

I’ve been sick this week, and I binged the entire podcast - it was the perfect thing to keep me company. Spooky, full of British folk lore, investigative and a little academic, and towards the end of the season some well produced action scenes. Great story telling. I can’t wait for it to return!!

A podcast-within-a-podcast that quickly spirals out into a bigger mystery

Summary: A podcast-within-a-podcast fictional audio drama that follows two hosts with great chemistry as they put themselves at risk of the paranormal (and otherwise) investigating Britain’s local forlkloric mysteries.

Thoughts: The friendship the two hosts share makes for pleasant banter, meaningful developments, and necessary conflict for the show to progress beyond its own format into a broader (and more personal) mystery investigation. I look forward to next episodes (on episode 8 now) as the stakes grow higher and real danger seems imminent. The expansion into meeting new characters is also welcome.

Technical: 1) Sound quality is a bit quiet in beginning episodes. 2) I do appreciate the reminders to start on episode 1, which gives me a hint the story builds beyond anthology. 3) The note to listeners in the first episode implying the existence of previous seasons or materials did confuse me a bit at first though.

Similar podcasts: BBC’s Lovecraft Investigations.

Good and spooky

It’s only been two episodes but I really like where this is going. Can’t wait for the next episode.
