    Locals in a small, rural district in Hawke's Bay are worried a proposed large housing development will destroy their beloved landscape forever.
    A couple wants to build more than 300 homes near the tiny towns of Tikokino and Onga Onga in Central Hawke's Bay.
    But not everyone's happy.

    Northland feral dog caught, chipped with GPS to track animals

    A Northland farmer grappling with feral dogs attacking her stock has managed to catch one and fit it with a GPS collar.
    The issue came to a head in July when more than a hundred stock were killed on a sheep and beef farm just south of Cape Rēinga.
    Efforts by hunters to control the feral dogs were unsuccessful and the attacks have continued with 26 sheep mauled just a couple of days ago.
    Despite this, farm owner Anne Marie Nilsson says progress has been made.

    MIQ is doing a roaring trade at the moment but it is not the kind you might think. Auckland Zoo's three new lions are currently quarantining after coming here from Australia.
    Twin sisters Aziza and Kibibi and their half sister Ilola have arrived about five months after the zoo was forced to put down two elderly lions because of health issues.
    Warren Spencer is Auckland Zoo's Senior Curator of Mammals and joins Lisa Owen with the latest.
