    Don't Make a Game, Make a Store

Tonight on GeekNights, in light of one of many Helldivers 2 kerfuffles, we consider yet another way that late capitalism is ruining the games industry: the stores make more money than the games. Book Club: The Night is Short, Walk on Girl

Tonight on the GeekNights Book Club, we discuss The Night is Short, Walk on Girl by Tomihiko Morimi. You may recall its anime adaptation we previously reviewed on GeekNights. It's sort of a surreal and mystical romantic comedy. A college student heads out into the night and encounters various people and wild surreal happenings. Another student who has a crush on her has decided to confess that night, and ends up along for a wild ride. If you had a certain kind of university experience it is very true to that experience.Related LinksThings of the DayForum ThreadBook Club: The Night is Short, Walk on GirlDiscord ChatBook Club: The Night is Short, Walk on Girl

"long timer listener, first time subscriber..."

I've been tangentially following GeekNights since I was, like, 12? Not actually listening to the podcast, but attending their panels at conventions when I had the opportunity. They're good dudes, smart and entertaining. When I started getting into listening to podcasts, I subscribed to theirs, and it's good! Not everything they talk about is relative to my own interests, but that's part of the point, that they cover a lot of different topics.

You already know these guys

Do you have a friend who is not really good at anything, but always claims to be an expert or always HAS to be the contrarian. Or that friend who is never actually listening to you, but is only waiting for their turn to speak. Yep, that’s who these two are. They seem to confuse being loud with being smart. I do respect the effort they are putting in though, and can appreciate their steady stream of content.

I think these two would have something if they slowed down to hear what the other is saying, instead of just waiting to shout their next statement.

I wanted to like them, I am really sorry that I don’t.

Too much shouting

Why is the one guy SHOUTING THE WHOLE TIME?
