I'm In - The Institute of Hospitality's Official Podcast - The Importance of The Financial Controller

Hot on the heals of our building a stable business podcast last month, we thought it was a great idea to rekindle our importance of series and focus on the Financial Controller.

Coupled with Phil’s own experience as a small business owner, it was fascinating to get the different opinions and focus on this role using Finance, Sales, Operational and Entrepreneurial hats.
    In this chat, they cover:-
What is the role of a Financial Controller and what does it cover? The attributes required to be a successful Financial ControllerAdvice for Aspiring Financial ControllersNailing the basicsThe impact of tech and automation on the roleBalancing Financial Rigour with the guest experienceUltimately, just how important is the Financial Controller?

I'm In - The Institute of Hospitality's Official Podcast - The Value of Fellowship

Something a little different for you this month as we mixed things up and didn’t even have Phil hosting this discussion.  We brought in Robert Richardson as a guest host as we thought it would be interesting to hear just how important Fellowship of the Institute is from none other than the three recipients (So far) of the Fellowship award, Stephen Carter OBE FIH, Harry Murray MBE MI FIH and Phil Street FIH.
In a wonderfully upbeat conversation, our panel get through:-
Why they wanted to become fellows in the first placeWhat becoming a Fellow meansThe impact of social media on FellowshipThe feeling of becoming a FellowFellowship and credibilityWhat it felt like to win the Fellows award
