Dev and Em here - we’re really excited to launch Season 3 of Imagine More with you guys. Our goal is to dedicate this podcast to cutting through the noise of feeds and likes. We’re after a space to talk to people who are using social platforms for passionate and unconventional messages and are making waves in our community because of it. Some topics you can expect from this season are: art, community, activism, mental health, identity + culture, social media (and how it can be a lens into all these things)
Ep # 5 | New Thoughts Come From New Experiences
Besides being a tea maker and a puppy mom, Tallia Deljou is a positive psychology expert and a personal development coach helping people make space for positive change. Tallia talks about worth and identity and how new thoughts come from new experiences. She touches on how we can challenge ourselves not to separate out parts of who we are rather showing up as your whole self - online and off. She brings up mental health and how it should be more of a conversation around business owning, taking on burden but not feeling burnt out and asking the question “Who do I choose to be?.” There are a TON of really good nuggets in this one guys, can’t wait for you guys to hear it.
Ep # 4 | The Art of Deconstruction
On today’s episode we sit down with one of our favorite Atlanta artists and painters - Erin Tapp. When Erin was only 7 years old she turned her basement into her own art lair - this is where she learned how to express herself. As an Atlanta native, she talks about what it was like growing up in this town and coming back, the bustle of the creative community, the influence of social media and how to navigate it all as authentic as possible. Fun fact - Erin has a painting studio in our space downstairs for over a year and she’s very quickly has became an Imagine muse. Her process is messy - in fact, in the coolest way I’ve never seen her without some kind of bright paint all over on her wardrobe. She works on multiple pieces at a time and she is never afraid to completely deconstruct and reconstruct with layers of color and happy patterns. We can’t wait for you to hear this one.
Ep # 3 | Developing Visual Language
Hey Everyone - It’s Devyn and Emily and we’re back in the studio today with some of the most influential creatives in Atlanta. Michelle and Forrest are creative partners who have aesthetic visions that overlap, they use Instagram as a tool to truly share a unique perspective on color and composition. Together, they make work that draws on the feeling of an ambiguous time and place.
They talk about their love story, process and letting go of their own personal photography identities to create something far bigger as a duo - Tropico Photo. The two have curated distinguished projects for Postemates, All Birds and Corkcicle just to name a few.
They share about developing a visual language, why travel inspires so much of their work and how they’ve learned to communicate in a creative relationship.
EP # 2 | Transparency vs Vulnerability
Today on our first episode of season 3 we sit down in the studio with the one and only Eryn Eddy - a social entrepreneur, writer and speaker with a contagious laugh. She is the owner of So Worth Loving with a big heart for community. Eryn has been building a movement in Atlanta and beyond since 2011. It all began with printing a simple message on t-shirts and funny enough at one point in her story even rented the space we now call our Imagine studio.
She’s an 7 enneagram with a hard 6 wing which she’ll mention about a little later. She speaks about the difference between transparency and vulnerability, learning worth in the rock bottom and the power of sharing stories online. We can’t wait for you guys to hear this one.
