Hi, I'm Dan McIntyre. In Defense of: A Movie Podcast is an upbeat and comedic podcast from 2 Canadian dudes, where we focus on redeeming qualities of terrible films. With my co-host Aaron Masih, we watch critically panned movies and challenge ourselves to investigate at-depth the production and behind-the-scenes to find out what went wrong, and most importantly we find reasons why it may deserve a second look, even if it hurts. We try to keep it clean and accessible, but rarely we, or a clip from a film may let slip a swear.

    In Defense of The Predator

    In Defense of The Predator

Sequel Season is in full-swing as Dan and Aaron take on 2018's "The Predator"
Sitting on the Tomatometer at 32% with an Audience Score of 33%, it is pretty easy to see that this film didn't resonate with die-hard or casual fans alike. However, being the most successful film of the franchise does raise a few eyebrows and prompt some investigation. Dan and Aaron discuss the fine lines Director Shane Black had to walk in order to bring this soft reboot to the big screen. They discuss the history of the franchise, the bizarre reshoots, and take a second look at stuff they didn't like about it with fresh eyes. Did nostalgia set unrealistic expectations? Is this movie actually just mad trash? Is there more good to it than meets the eye? Come find out why "The Predator" might actually be a better Predator movie than you think it is.
NOTE: This episode has been flagged as Explicit due to some language from the film clips included. Assuming you're a Predator fan, this shouldn't come as a surprise.

    In Defense of Alien 3

    In Defense of Alien 3

The time has come to finally take on the film that inspired the very concept of this podcast! Dan and Aaron finally take on "Alien 3".
With a Tomatometer rating of 43% and an Audience Score of 47%, Alien 3 is a prime example of what studio meddling can do to a beloved franchise. With expectations sky-high after the blockbuster success of 1986's "Aliens" fans were lead to believe that the next installment would bring the mighty Xenomorph to Earth. Turns out 20th Century Fox had other plans. More specifically, 20th Century Fox had no plans at all! With a release date set in stone before a story or script were locked in, the stage was set for box office disappointment. "Why are the innocent punished? Why the sacrifice?" Against all odds, Director David Fincher somehow managed to scrape together a film that is dark, dreary, and wildly divisive among fans. But is it all bad? Not by a long shot! 3 Times the Episode, 3 Times the Defending, 3 Times the Jokes! Let's go!

    In Defense of Waterworld

In their debut episode, Dan and Aaron tackle the stunt-packed box office disaster that is, Waterworld. Arguably the first film to suffer pre-release internet wrath, we dig into the troubled production and learn a few neat tidbits along the way. But what could there possible be to like about a movie that opens with the protagonist drinking his own urine? Surprisingly a lot! Climb aboard to learn more about the bizarre twisted tale that is, 1995's Waterworld and why it may deserve a second chance. Nothing's free in Waterworld, but this podcast is.

This podcast is so much more than I expected

I didn’t think I would care too much for this podcast but I figured I would give it a listen just to try and give some support to these guys. I quickly realized that this was so much better than I anticipated. They actually do a ton of research about the movies they watch and bring together thoughts and explanations from all over the place during each episode that really ties tho whole thing together and helps to see what went wrong with the film. Just give it an honest attempt and I believe that you’ll find it extremely interesting and hilarious.

Fees like I’m having a convo with old friends

The two hosts are so wholesome and great! It never gets too negative and mean; the whole thing is in lighthearted jest. I also love the movie choices they’ve been making. Can’t wait to see where this podcast goes :)

Great New Movie Podcast

I really like this podcast. The two guys are easy to listen to and entertaining. I can’t wait to hear their review of Master of Disguise. I actually found Jack and Jill hilarious. I would love for them to review it, if they find anything redeeming about it.
