Pretty good, but could be more sympathetic to the investigators

Really riveting--listened to all of season 1 in a day. Liked it, with a caveat. The interviews of the host with the sherriff and other police are excruciatingly harsh and borderline accusatory. I was honestly uncomfortable listening to them. She asks leading, unanswerable questions to police who are VOLUNTARILY giving her an interview. Saddened at the end when *spoiler* sherriff Sander was forced to resign and was replaced. He seemed sincere.

Genuine question for the producers--do you honestly expect to continue to get voluntary statements from police if you continue to be so hostile in your interviews of them?

Hindsight is 20/20--I appreciated the systemic issues in law enforcement the narrator details (elected sheriffs, lack of centralization), but found little use for her individual attacks on the Stearns County department. She was a practically implying they threw the case intentionally, didn't care, or were not trying. Obviously mistakes were made, but the narrator could've at least AKNOWLEGED that the police did make legitimate, sincere efforts to find Jacob, albeit unsuccessfully.

People calling this bias

It would be interesting to see the stats on how many people who sang in their church choir ended up a criminal let alone a brutal murderer.

The gold standard

In the Dark podcast is the gold standard of podcasts. Beautifully produced, compassionate and professional. So thankful that they covered Curtis Flowers Case so that we can all advocate for this innocent man! Well done.
