In the Day of DeSantis, What is Black History Studies‪?‬ The Just Politickin Podcast

    • Comedy Interviews

This episode, we are joined by Camara Williams from the Uncultured Bias podcast to discuss Florida Governor Ron DeSantis decision to ban AP African-American studies from Florida schools.

During this episode, we highlight the Governor's reasoning while detailing elements of the AP African-American studies syllabus. As the conversation develops, we ask a few critical questions:

1. Do we need more Black Republicans to help ensure that Black history is stressed and important?

2. Should the Democrats be leading this issue?

If neither of those options work, we highlight the need for better messaging and how Governor DeSantis is winning the barbershop conversation on some issues. Although he didn't find any significant value some subjects, the Governor didn't publically object to the teachings of the Black Panther Party, the U.S. Occupation of Haiti and Marcus Garvey and the UNIA. Choosing divisive issues really gets the people going... and might just take him into the White House if the economy tanks - like experts predict.

Which leads to the final topic of if the Democrats are ready for... anything... not just in Florida but nationwide.
