Recordings from 1994 of renowned IBS scholar Dr. Robert Traina. Though it was originally shot in VHS almost two decades ago, the content of these videos remains stellar. Eugene Peterson, author of The Message, recently wrote, "A few days after arriving at the Seminary, I found myself sitting in a classroom led by a professor, Robert Traina, who over the next three years would profoundly change the Bible for me, and me along with it, in ways that gave shape to everything I have been doing for the rest of my life. This is not an exaggeration."

Robert Traina was Thompson Professor of Biblical Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore KY. He held the STB and STM degrees from Biblical Seminary in New York and the PhD degree from Drew University. For half a century, Robert Traina's method of inductive Bible study has taught students the most important critical-thinking skill of all: how to read! His method trains people to attend closely to what is in a text and what is not in a text, to follow a text's argument, and to map its narrative flow. Watch and listen as he guides through the process of observation, interpretation, and appropriation.
