Inside The Huddle takes you inside Wolverine Nation

Inside the Huddle is a fantastic podcast of the daily afternoon sports talk radio show out of Ann Arbor. They focus on everything Michigan along with some Ann Arbor culture. The content is informative and rich as every game is previewed, and broken down by the guys, and previous Wolverine standouts like Devin Gardner. In addition, the show will have shorts about business and life in Ann Arbor, fan call ins, and an amazing segment called game of my life.

The on air talent is very knowledgeable and fun to listen to. They come off like three friends talking football over a beer, rather than a robotic studio script. Michael Spath is the host and has a deep knowledge of the history and flavor of Michigan football. He provides excellent analysis, but in the language of a fan which keeps the show light and entertaining. Zach Shaw is the brains of the operation, and the voice of reason on air. He keeps the takes in perspective, and has a more analytical approach. The two play off each other well, and tend to balance out in the right place. There is a third personality named “Miz” who I believe is actually the producer. He is on sporadically, and has very casual, on the surface insight.

This podcast is a must for any Michigan fan! You get the complete Michigan experience to listen to anytime, day or night.

One thing I would suggest for improvement is an in depth recruiting segment once a week. It’s a big part of the fan experience.

Good content

I like the content, and the hosts are knowledgeable. Spath comes off as a jerk sometimes. Because of that, there seems to be tension between the hosts and they play it off as messing around. But it sounds like there’s some actual animosity there. Just my perception. It detracts from my own personal listening experience or I’d give it 5 stars.
