As a parent it can feel very overwhelming at times with everything on our to-do list and all of the thoughts & emotions that go along with it. My guest today, Kate Kripke, has experience & insight that can help us shift our perspective around it all. I got so much out of this conversation and know you will too.
Kate is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Perinatal Mental Health Counselor (PMH-C) who has worked in the field of maternal and family mental health  for more than 20 years. She’s spent the past decade and a half supporting women and families as the Founding Director and Senior Supervising Psychotherapist of the Postpartum Wellness Center of Boulder, an organization she created in 2007.  Kate has extensive experience and training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders with a BA in Sociology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Smith College. She has participated in numerous maternal mental health task forces, most recently sitting on the Pregnancy-Related Depression State Advisory Committee convened by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. In addition to her work at PWCB, Kate shares her expertise through one-on-one and group coaching, online workshops, a weekly podcast “Motherhood Uncut,” and her upcoming book, Reinventing Supermom: Support & Strategies for New Mothers Who Feel Lost.
She lives in Boulder, CO with her two teenaged daughters, her husband, and her dog Darwin.
