The Pressure People often feel pressure regarding how to show up on Instagram, what to post, how to be authentic, and how to not let imposter syndrome or comparison consume them.
Why Instagram Why should entrepreneurs use Instagram to build a personal brand?  Allison believes that you can build relationships much faster on Instagram.
There is so much potential with Instagram.  People don’t have to follow so many people or follow a set of rules based on the influencers.   It should be used as a tool to build your presence and that is what leads to sales and profits later on.
You have to have intention when getting on Instagram.   Those intentions should be about helping and serving others and help your audience by sharing content.
Building connections by helping others then transforms into building relationships which is how we advance in our businesses.
The Number One Question or Struggle When building  a Personal Brand on Instagram The number one problem people have with Instagram is that they don’t know what to post.
What this really means is that they don’t know how to show up because there are so many influencers saying what to do that it is overwhelming.
There are two questions that people struggling often forget to ask:
What do they really want? Who is their ideal audience? It’s important to remember that posting has to feel right and it has to reach the ideal audience.
One way to find clarity is to list three things that you want to be known for.   Then create content around those three content categories or brand pillars.
It is important to be consistent with your content and to post on a regular basis.  Consistency is specific to you.  It’s how you define it.  It can be three, four, or five days a week.   If it becomes forced, it will feel inauthentic.
You control your Instagram content.  Instagram doesn’t control you!
Pillars of Content Brand pillars or content pillars are the categories or topics you want to focus on creating content for.   Use them to create content consistently.
That One Key Thing to Build Your Personal Brand on Instagram Show your face!   Your face should be in the first 9 to 12 tiles on Instagram at least once, if not twice.   The important thing is to show up, if you don’t have perfectly curated photos, no big deal.  Post anyway because it’s important to show up and show your real self so that your ideal audience can relate to you.
It’s fine to show up messy!
Personal branding photos are awesome, but it’s OK to not always have professional photos in your newsfeed.
Remember, people are following you for the content and value you are giving them.   Your Instagram feed is about the people who follow you, not about you.  Make your content about them, not about yourself!
