In December 2010, students from the Department of Computer Science established a GSU branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). With over 395,000 members in 160 countries, IEEE is the world’s largest technical society, serving professionals involved in all aspects of the electrical, electronic, and computing fields.
The IEEE GSU Student branch will sponsor talks by invited speakers on the latest topics in the field of engineering and computing technologies. It will also offer workshops on such topics as robotics. IEEE meetings will focus more on engineering topics and include more hands-on demonstrations.
