How often do we get to challenge ourselves as adults?

Change my long-held beliefs over the course of a 50 minute debate? Absolutely. This is the real deal. Reasoned debate between two expertly prepared teams on a huge variety of topics. None of the name-calling and attacks. Just brilliant debate by some of the best and brightest.

best format for "balanced" coverage

Many people, rightfully, claim that most reporting on any topic in the most respected sources are biased. To counter this, some reporters create supposed balance by bringing incomparable arguments for both sides, masking their personal preference for one of the sides.

The Intelligence Squared Debates format avoids this bias buy design, creating a much more balanced and nuanced coverage of their selected topics. Loving it!
