Interview with Kuri Yasuno TheDailyBrag

    • Entrepreneurship

On this Episode I interviewed Kuri Yasuno. Kuri is the Author of the upcoming book titled, Autism with a side of Sushi.

In her early years, Kuri and her family migrated from Japan to Long Island, NY when she was five years old.  She later graduated from Georgetown University, where she pursued paralegal work at a law firm. After landing what she thought was a good job, she soon realized that wasn't the path for her, which lead her to explore other opportunities, landing her a role in Marketing and Website Production for the Discovery Channel.

Due to personal circumstances, Kuri found herself having to switch gears again, this time to be a stay at home mom, after her older son was diagnosed with being on the autism spectrum. She focused her attention on caring for her children,  who are now two teenage boys.  Kuri took her creative spirit and her positive mindset to focus on his education and social skills development. Ultimately, Kuri was inspired to write this book to share her experiences as a mom of a special-needs child with humorous anecdotes and honest introspection. Her hope is for her story to inspire awareness, understanding, inclusion and especially kindness.
