TINA HENDRIX INTERVIEW WITH UPDATE ON THE HENDRIX MUSIC ACADEMY

Contact: www.hendrixmusicacademy.org  Hendrix Family Non-Profit Being Sued by Experience Hendrix, LLC (Seattle, WA – November 16th, 2020) – Since 2009, Tina Hendrix, niece of Jimi Hendrix, has operated the Hendrix Music Academy (HMA) in order to bring musical education to the underserved youth of the Seattle community. Many of these kids grew up in the same impoverished neighborhoods as Jimi Hendrix. Now, in the midst of a global pandemic, the HMA is at risk of permanently being closed, but not due to Covid-19, but rather due to litigation, led by Janie Hendrix and Hendrix Experience, LLC. On September 18th – 20th, 2020, the HMA sponsored and organized a Free Public Memorial & Peace and Love event in Seattle’s Jimi Hendrix Park, to honor Jimi Hendrix, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of his untimely death. This event, even though it was a non-profit event and followed social distancing guidelines, was cited in the litigation as an infringement on Jimi Hendrix’s copyright. This couldn’t be further from the truth, as the Hendrix family was given the rights to use Jimi Hendrix’s name, by the late Al Hendrix, as long as it was for a charitable entity, of which the HMA qualifies. The HMA has spent over a decade providing valuable services to the underserved youth of Seattle and has survived through small donations. The HMA has provided all of these services without any costs to the youth participants or their families. This recent attack will potentially force the HMA to cease programming for children, who may not have any other access to music lessons or equipment. It would be a shame for this valuable institution to be extinguished due to petty and vindictive litigation, that only serves to punish Leon Hendrix, Jimi’s brother. This recent legal action by Experience LLC is not reflective of the man that Jimi Hendrix was. His 27 short years on this planet was full of charity and love for the underprivileged and the youth of the world, of which he was one during his formative years in Seattle. The Hendrix Music Academy calls for all fans of the great Jimi Hendrix to stand with us, as we fight this heavy-handed and extremely punitive lawsuit and fight for the right of the Seattle youth to have access to the gift of music, of which Jimi Hendrix could only dream about as a youth. For more information, please visit our website: www.hendrixmusicacademy.org ##### Update: On January 11, 2020 Judge Engelmeyer ruled against the Hendrix Music Academy in what we feel is an incorrect  decision which further violates our first amendment rights. We plan to appeal this unfair and unjust ruling and continue to fight for our rights.  I will say that we are devastated and disappointed about the judge’s decision and I strongly feel that it was incorrect and unjust for several  reasons. Experience Hendrix only seeks to disenfranchise Jimi Hendrix’s next of kin from participating in his legacy at all costs, for no other purpose than corporate greed and to spread public misinformation that only they are Jimi’s family in reality they are not. Our small charity could not afford attorney representation during time when the pandemic has pushed us to the brink. I had to act pro se on behalf of our charity. Having legal counsel is critical to any successful legal battle. This battle is not about money but the right to use my own family birth given name for charitable purposes. This is more about free speech and our rights are being violated by this order and the order preceding this case which was a default judgment against my father. I am astonished that the courts have sided with Experience Hendrix and stripped us from our rights to use our own family surname after a lifetime of doing so. This is a rare occurrence.  The plaintiff gained the Hendrix name by virtue of adoption. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/van-keeto2/support

    Smokey Da Bandit INTERVIEW 🔥🔥

Smokey Da Bandit January 1st, 1981, Terrell J. McSee was born at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan, Illinois. His mother gave birth to 2 other siblings with him being the oldest of them all. As for having a father present it was not evident, but the love was still felt. His mother was the one to lead by example by consistently moving him to and from in pursuit of a better environment for him to grow up in. However, it was not possible because trouble seemed to be in each area in which they settled. When he was eleven years old, his uncle was murdered. Music became his voice to shout out to the world his views and feelings. In 1994 Smokey moved from the Lake County Area to Chicago’s South Side and started running reckless in the streets with some of his closest friends. Music was his savior. After a couple of “wrong turns”, Smokey decided to stay focused on his music more and began hitting the studios hard and achieving real accomplishments. Since then Da Bandit has created a buzz in the streets with his music and by performing in various events & Open Mics. He was blessed with the opportunity share the same stage with industry artist such as: DO OR DIE, TRAE THE TRUTH, TWISTA, BIZZY BONE, YOUNG GUNZ, PETEY PABLO, BONE THUGS-N-HARMONY, FAT JOE of Terror Squad, PROJECT PAT, BOYZ N DA HOOD, GOODIE MOBB, BUN B of UGK, SHOCK G of Digital Underground, RAY J, MAINO, L.E.P BOGUS BOYZ, NAPPY ROOTS &More. He has even hosted several party events as well as his own “THE WRITER’S BLOCK” Open Mic Events. Some of his many accomplishments are CD’s like “The Flesh is Weak…The Soul Is Immortal”, his sophomore album called “Chicago Syndicate” which gained him attention from local media outlets, and his previous released junior CD entitled “Neva Satisfied”. He has 6 Mixtapes available on Datpiff.com and has become hands on in videos as well. As humble as he can be Smokey Da Bandit is someone who receives praises from almost everyone who hears his music. So, to know him is to only love his music even more.  Smokey is affiliated with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony (Mo Thugs/ Harmony Howse Ent./Flesh-N-Bone Global) & tours with them periodically.  Smokey is a 2x Chicago Music Awards Winner (2017 Best New Entertainer & 2019 Best Urban Indie Entertainer) & just recently released his 6th solo album “JUVY WORLD” dedicated to his slain cousin, available for downloading/streaming on all digital platforms.  EPK JUVY WORLD IS AVAILABLE ON ALL DIGITAL PLATFORMS!!! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/van-keeto2/support

Tina Hendrix Interview niece of Jimi Hendrix "Hendrix Music Academy"

Hendrix Music Academy In 2009, Tina Hendrix, the neice of Rock Legend Jimi Hendrix, founded the Hendrix Music Academy to honor her uncle by making a difference in the lives of the under-served children from his hometown. Since then, hundreds of under-served youth of all ages have been served with free music lessons, free instruments, free healthy meals, free mentoring programs and performance opportunities. Tina Hendrix with Hendrix Music Academy students at the Jimi Hendrix 40th Memorial Concert in Seattle. At the Hendrix Music Academy, we teach so much more than Music! We teach AGAINST: violence, hate, crime, ignorance and poverty. We advocate FOR: arts in the community, peaceful solutions, acceptance of others, embracing diversity, encouraging education, and charity in our world. We teach under-served youth the life skills and strategies that they need to overcome challenges, and achieve life goals. We encourage our students to continue their education, live responsibly in the world, and to help others when they are able.  At the Hendrix Music Academy, we mentor our students to become global citizens. In order to become a true global citizen, certain aspects of global citizenship such as becoming educated and experienced as contributing citizens, must be taught. We lead by example and by the way we live our lives, and the way we conduct ourselves in public. We learn not to offend others by learning what offends others. At-risk youth learn to give by receiving, they learn to teach by being taught, it is our goal that by giving them the support they need to reach their potential, they will in time, learn to give that support back to another person in need. We mentor all ages of under-served youth students, from elementary school throughout the challenging teenage years, to become educated, responsible, and global contributors. They learn this technique by participating in our dynamic and charitable programs that redesigned to help At-risk Youth make progress toward reaching life-goals, such as High school completion. We present At-risk Youth with opportunities such as helping feed the hungry with our annual fall food drive, and by volunteering and participating at the Hendrix Music Academy, or performing concerts for those who are isolated, in the mobile music academy program. At Hendrix Music Academy, our mentoring programs help turn At-risk Youth into Global citizens and Future Philanthropists. The Hendrix Music Academy is funded by Tina Hendrix and the support of Jimi's most dedicated fans! We don't receive any government  funding whatsoever. We rely on the fans and those who believe in free education for under-served youth to keep our programs alive. Our music teachers are fans of Jimi Hendrix and they pay tribute to their mentor by teaching the children. We provide all of our services free of charge for the families that we serve. Many are living in poverty and cannot afford to pay tuition. We need your help! "Everything Off" produced by Sam Da Grouch for One Room Productions (the intro).
