White Supremacy in Evangelicalism - Hidden in Plain Sight - 170

White Supremacy in Evangelicalism - Hidden in Plain Sight - 170

Co-hosts begin this raw and real conversation about white supremacy in Evangelicalism by reflecting on their experiences of white supremacy in their formative churches. Memories arise from Awana, mission trips, seminary and other church settings. Co-hosts recall witnessing the pervasive project to marginalize people of color across all aspects of their formative church life. The white co-hosts marvel that with all the talk of sin, never did that talk include racism.

Changing Truth - An Ever Evolving Journey - 168

Our truth series is wrapped up this week with a deeply personal conversation on changing truth.  Everyone on this show, and the vast majority of our listeners, have experienced a truth change.  Many times we refer to that process as deconstruction.  A term that reflects a reality we all share, but that falls short of communicating the depth and heartache involved in the process of changing truth.

Grateful for These Loving, Sensitive Christians

I wish I knew about this podcast sooner! It is a breath of fresh air. It's hard finding Christians who affirm both Christ and culture, faith and love, discipleship and scholarship. I'm so grateful for this group of people, and grateful for the difficult subjects they thoughtfully discuss. I will recommend this podcast to everyone who believes that the head and the heart are both important.

Positive, yet missing scripture

I like... where the heart of this podcast is: love for others; however there seems to be an aversion to using scriptural references. Especially in regards to verses that may challenge what the hosts define as love.

I think every generation has had some urge to update the faith; this doesn’t mean I think every generation is correct. I feel like most ‘progressive’ (LGBT or LGBT-adjacent) Christians feel very slighted by how the Bible speaks on certain things, and would prefer to re-imagine the Bible instead of re-imagining themselves.

I don’t know, and I want to have an open mind to these people if they genuinely have Truth to speak about Jesus; I just can’t agree that what they say is true, if I don’t see it in relation to scripture. It doesn’t need to be every episode; but I personally need a little less opinion, and a bit more Bible-thinking. And perhaps evidence of a willingness to submit to the will of God. Ultimately I feel like the notion of “submitting” to God would be offensive to these hosts.

I can always be wrong, and I hope in time to see evidence of such presented

Nice podcast

A Christian podcast that goes into progressive politics. I’d appreciate it going into anti-capitalism and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict though.
