I thought this was such a great discussion and something we needed to address here too. Here's the rub: they are not separate. Self love doesn't show up because you lose weight - it comes from the culmination of your actions.     There was a time when I thought “someday” I’ll lose all the weight and my life will be perfect. I spent so much time and energy daydreaming about this fantasy. It wasn't that I didn't want to lose weight but what I really craved for myself was so much bigger than just weight loss. It was a feeling . . . a lifestyle . . . a bigger life where I deserved so much more. None of those things are going to show up simply because you lose weight. The life you crave will come true when you stop looking for it in "just" another diet and instead find out how to create a relationship with yourself, drop the inner fat bitch chatter, show up when things are perfect, and find your worth outside of the scale.

    I’m seeing a lot of posts lately in some of the “intuitive eating” and "body positive" social media groups that I follow. Let’s clear the air about the "performative" b******t body positivity movement as it relates to intentional weight loss. There are a lot of messages out there that are downright irresponsible and stupid.  I have ranted about this before in episode 37 - The Body Positive Movement is B******t + What Self Love Really Means. Its time to do that again because these so called gurus are causing tons of confusion and are promoting some downright dangerous ideas.  I want to set the record straight that I firmly believe in not waiting for the weight but also loving yourself enough to know when physical weight loss is necessary.

Discovered this accidentally. Aimee is not saying something we have not heard elsewhere but she is so open and honest, and she has been there. Very good at connecting with her audience. Great find.
