Making space for multiple emotionsExploring the colonial mentality when it comes to Western TherapyHow to listen to different forms of wisdomPatterns Monica has observed within the Filipino community around therapy needs, mental health and healingFinding your inner voice and allowing yourself to take up space, authentically, in front of othersImportance of Episode
The space of mental health, being such a new thing in itself, is not a talked about thing in our culture. It's a taboo topic… which makes it all that more important to talk about. There are so many common themes throughout our families: like silent suffering, previous generations’ unaddressed traumas, spiritual bypassing to name a few. Many of us never think to connect the dots and therapy helps us connect those dots and move forward in a way our parents were never able to.
