Boy, politics really has gotten hideous, hasn’t it? And protests seem a lot more violent than they were a couple of years ago. Are things getting worse? Could the U.S.A be on the road to a second civil war?

Robert Evans says ‘Yes!’ and by the time you’ve finished listening to ‘It Could Happen Here’, you will too.

Great Narrative Podcast - Not Partisan

The narrator does a good job using recent historical examples for how political tensions could escalate and grow violent in the near future. Some of the scenarios seem unlikely, as a series of events would need to go horribly wrong, but they all feel plausible and worrying enough. I like that the narrator brings his own unique perspective. He’s been to places of conflict around the world, has reported on radical domestic political groups (of all ideologies), empathizes with gun culture, and has a grasp of the urban/rural divide that defines most of today’s political divisions. Those that claim left wing bias are angry that the narrator is not inflating the threat of left-wing radical groups, and I actually wish he would go into more detail on what some the right-wing, white nationalist groups believe. Definitely worth a listen and very accessible as episodes are only 30-45 minutes each.

Insightful but

A good listen unless you’re sensitive to the lip smacking. So much lip smacking, dude!

Skewed too far left.

Great topic, very interesting but lost me. I don’t care which way you swing politically... but if you overlook the obvious fallacies, I can’t listen. It’s too bad, I really wanted to like this podcast. I went in with an open mind and gave it a try.
