In the frost bitten run-up to Christmas 2018, Pixies set about recording a new album at Dreamland Studios, near Woodstock, NY. In an unprecedented move, they recorded every waking moment in the studio and provided all areas access to local music biographer Tony Fletcher to create a ground breaking document: It’s a Pixies Podcast. Over its 12 engrossing weekly episodes, It’s a Pixies Podcast reveals why the new album sounds like a dusty book of eerie folklore tales, full of black arts, Byronesque imagery, death, and its aftermath. Beneath the Eyrie is released on September 13.

A fantastic peek at the Pixies and the art of album creation
I loved this podcast and was pretty sad when it completed. I felt like I was there with old friends enjoying the process of creating this LP. Now listening to the finished work (it’s brilliant), I feel like I’m right back there in upstate New York listening to Charles, Joey, Paz, and Dave working through the songs with Tom. Brilliant!!!
A great listen if you’re interested in the song writing and recording process. I found myself developing relationships with the songs well before hearing the finished product. I was even lucky enough to hear some of these songs live months before the album release and I’d get formally introduced to them here. A great podcast!
