Lovely show

I truly love this podcast to the point that I have listened to nearly all 114 episodes over a 2 month period. These guys are both hilarious(actually) and I love the banter. My favorite episode so far has been the one about traditional japanese home renovation.

With my previous review, I was so enthralled in the world of the podcast that I believed myself to be the foremost expert in that field. While that may very well be the case, even a savant should exercise humility at times, so I have revised the review to a more pure representation of my affection for this podcast. The other reason for my revision is that, after I was mentioned on the show, I became terrified of what Ollie may do to me if I continue to displease him.

Just not for me

I’m sure some will enjoy it, but there’s a certain brand of humor or snark that just doesn’t vibe with me and this is that brand I’m not the audience at all. Hard pass.

Surprisingly Tolerable (this is a joke)

This comedy news podcast focused on life in Japan has quickly become part of my regular podcast rotation rather than on my “when I have time to listen” list. Very funny with a nice glimpse of life in Japan from 2 long term residents. My previous review had too many inside jokes from the show, but I have left it below.

Brian and Brian have a charming rapport and are occasionally amusing. Their news reports provide a vital public service by keeping non-Japanese speaking expats abreast of current events in their adopted country while the River Cruise reviews are enough to keep any salaryman supplied with endless vacation destinations they will never visit.
