New Horror Movies Ep. 096: Dr. Shock’s Dead Air Radio

New Horror Movies Ep. 096: Dr. Shock’s Dead Air Radio

Broadcasting from K-I-L-L, you’re listening to Dr. Shock’s DEAD AIR RADIO… The interesting interludes that transition us between reviews in Episode 096 of Jay of the Dead’s New Horror Movies come from the mind of Dave “Dr. Shock” Becker. Due to some unusual circumstances in recording way back in September 2022, Dr. Shock had an open mic and free rein to bestow whatever verbal marvels his dark heart desired. Having captured those recordings, we have saved them until now, where we will indiscriminately intersperse Dave’s ramblings into what Jay of the Dead calls “Dr. Shock’s DEAD AIR RADIO.” In addition, we bring you 2024 Horror movie reviews of new releases like Imaginary (2024) and Amelia’s Children (2024). This episode also boasts a Horror in Black and White segment by Mackula, exploring the BW version of The Mist (2007). And we have GregaMortis’s pick from John Kenneth Muir’s “Horror Films of the 1980s” book: Ms .45 (1981)! Join us!

New Horror Movies Ep. 093: It’s a Stupid Rubber Snake, and He’s Fighting It

All right. Continuing on with our cave man theme from two episodes ago, this time during Gillman Joel’s Horror Lagoon segment (now, also available on video!), you will get to hear an earnest, in-depth analysis and discussion about Jan-Gel: The Beast From the East (1999) and Jan-Gel 2: The Beast Returns (2001) — not “new” Horror movies, but believe us when we tell you, that’s the least of their problems… Anyway, this is Episode 093 of Jay of the Dead’s New Horror Movies, The Gold Standard of Horror Movie Podcasts. During this show, you will also hear new Horror movie reviews of Stopmotion (2024), Life of Belle (2024) and The Wrath of Becky (2023). We also welcome special guest Michael Steinberg for an excellent Concept Discussion involving Cautionary Tales for Horror Filmmakers! Oh, and Dr. Walking Dead catches up with Phantasm (1979) on The Dead Zone! Join us!

The Berserk Baboon of Horror Podcasts

Jay of the Dead is a legend in the horror podcasting world. His New Horror Movies show brings together a team of “horror Avengers,” each of whom brings their own unique perspective and knowledge. As the title implies, they focus on new theatrical and VOD/streaming releases. But they also look at older films in segments such as GregaMortis’ Monsters on the Mantle, a look at sci-fi/horror from the 50s and 60s, and Dr. Walking Dead’s Dead Man Still Walking exploration of zombie films throughout history.

They delve into themes and trends, and even aspects of horror fandom such as their recent dive into the physical media vs. streaming debate and movie collecting.

A very comprehensive horror show with something for virtually any horror fan, from the casual to the analytical.

Horror!!

Been a fan since HMP and I love this podcast besides Ron Martin. When he speaks it ruins the entire show and I don’t want to listen. I quit listening to saw due to him. Please don’t have him on again.
