Jesus as Way, with Rev. Dr. Steven Koski‪.‬ A Spacious Christianity

    • Christianity

Jesus as Way, with Rev. Dr. Steven Koski. A Spacious Christianity, First Presbyterian Church of Bend, Oregon. Scripture: John 14:6.
Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father, except through me”. That verse has used to judge and condemn others. Can we free Jesus from that box? Is it possible to understand that verse in a different way? A way that might actually free Jesus, and even free us.
About the Series, Freeing Jesus: Jesus asks his followers, “Who do you say that I am?” This worship will ask us that same question inviting us to see Jesus through six different lenses. Many struggle identifying themselves as Christian because of the disappointments and disillusionment with the church. Instead, they say they are followers of Jesus. This series will seek to free Jesus from the constraints that are often placed on Jesus that we might renew our hope in the Jesus we have known, the one we know now, and the one who will meet us ahead on the road.
Join us each Sunday, 10AM at bendfp.org, or 11AM KTVZ-CW Channel 612/12 in Bend.  Subscribe/Follow, and click the bell for alerts.
At First Presbyterian, you will meet people at many different places theologically and spiritually. And we love it that way. We want to be a place where our diversity brings us together and where conversation takes us all deeper in our understanding of God.
We call this kind of faith “Spacious Christianity.” We don’t ask anyone to sign creeds or statements of belief. The life of faith is about a way of being in the world and a faith that shows itself in love.
