Liberty Bell Smack : KTLA Los Angeles News Anchor Pedro Rivera

Pedro Rivera anchors the KTLA 5 news at 5, then reports for the 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts.

Pedro moved to Los Angeles in September 2021.

During his time at KTLA, along with general assignment reporting, Pedro has covered the Rams Super Bowl parade, co-hosted Backstage at The Rose Parade, and covered multiple Los Angeles Marathons.

Prior to moving to SoCal, Pedro anchored FOX40 News in the Morning on weekdays.

Prior to joining the FOX40 news team as a general assignment reporter in March of 2017, Pedro spent 3 years working as a reporter at KHBS/KHOG 40/29 News in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Pedro also worked at WFSB Channel 3 Eyewitness News in Hartford, Connecticut, where he was a photographer and editor for the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts.

While in Hartford, Pedro covered many national stories, including the aftermath following the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Blizzard Nemo, and was live at the Boston Marathon bombing. Pedro also worked as a news assistant at NY1 News in New York in June 2012. Pedro was on location during Hurricane Sandy.

Pedro is a New York City native, but calls Albany, New York home. Pedro received his Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Pace University in Pleasantville, N.Y. (Home of the Setters!).

During his time at Pace, Pedro interned at WABC-TV in New York City as a sports intern. Aside from spending his summer watching baseball, he interviewed many New York athletes and baseball legends, like Bob Gibson, Joe Torre and Ron Guidry.

In his free time, Pedro enjoys watching his favorite sports teams (Yankees, Eagles, Rangers, and Hornets) work out and wine tasting.

Being from the east coast, Pedro is excited to learn about Southern California! Contact Pedro with story ideas or news tips via email: pedro.rivera@KTLA.com
