Good comedy reflects real life. The people in my daily life are NOT professional comedians. They're ordinary people and they're FANTASTIC. Sometimes I turn on my recorder and just capture our conversations. Unedited, chaotic and unscripted. This is my Comedy Sojourn.

The Hypocrisy of Evangelical Conservatism - Comedy Sojourn EP231

Hi Pkarlgh. The Peaches and I disagree about whether or not we disagree about what has 'conservatives' in an uproar. (If you think that sentence is hard to comprehend, just wait until you hear this conversation!)  At one point, The Peaches threatens to drop "an atomic bomb" on me!  So I need to re-iterate that nothing you hear in this episode is intended as a call to violence.

Hot Takes

I like the fact that John Branyan will always have a hard opinion about anything. I originally heard of him through the Tim Hawkins podcast “Poddy Break”. What a great podcast to listen to while I work. Keep making them!

Wonderfully Unexpected

When I first tried this podcast I did not expect to get what I found. I though it would be more or less like any other Christian comedian's podcast with lots of jokes with some faith sprinkled in. Instead, I got honest discussions on faith, politics, and culture that is now viewed as not politically correct and offensiveeven to some Christians.

If you are prone to taking offense to differing opinions then this will be a very troubling listen for you. I will keep listening to every new episode, keep it up please!

Ahem, my rating on what I’ve heard

This is one of the finest podcasts out there. Amanda & John (and occasionally Bob Smiley, random people, Tabby, Luke, Silas, Marcie, Colin, and a couple other kids here and there) give a good perspective on pretty much everything. I also get the sense of I told them any of my problems, they’d probably laugh at me.. Sometimes it seems they can’t take anything seriously.. yet they are taking it seriously, but they're not being serious about something they are being serious about. Make sense? If it doesn’t listen and it will. I’ve been listening for a few months now, and reading John’s blog. I appreciate his truth and sarcasm. It really is what it says it is. A comedy sojourn. The audio quality is something you have to get used to if you are you to headset recorded podcasts, but the comedy sojourn is a cozy audio and you feel right in the room with all the kids. They talk about current issues, and Amanda talks about how women are horrible feminists taking over the world (most of the time). All in all I’d give this podcast a 10/10 if I could, but sadly I can only give five.
