John Buchanan was the coach of arguably the greatest cricket team ever. He took over as the head coach of the Australian men’s cricket team after they had won the 1999 world cup and set about making them a team that dominated world cricket for the next 8 years. With two more world cup wins in 2003 and 2007 along with test series wins all around the world as well as becoming the first team to score over 400 in a 50 ODI, not to mention all the legends of Aussie cricket that were part of the team during these years and a whole host of other records, all make JB coaching career a phenomenal story. During this conversation, we explore these years as well as his ideas around coaching, which can all be encapsulated in the simple phrase... if better is possible. His coaching methods set trends that are still being used in coaching today.
