Great background on Calvin

Content and presentation were excellent. Listened to these lectures in conjunction with reading through the Instiutes this year. Lectures help to add more context from which Calvin's theology arose

Quality lectures on Calvin

Gamble (not to be confused with another professor who taught at Palm Beach Atlantic and Hillsdale) is a knowledgable and effective presenter. Very worthwhile.

Great Presentation

I wish there was more of this type of lecturing. Dr Gamble does a phenomenal job of presenting Calvin as a man of his time. Too often Christian hero's are plucked out of their historical context and shoved into our present context and we end up 'idolizing' a caricature of the real man. Calvin surely would not like seeing saints label themselves "Calvinist". Dr Gamble, again, does a wonderful job of presenting a wonderful Christian hero properly; ie. Not putting him on a pedestal, yet still showing the importance and beauty of his labors in Christ. Thank you Dr Gamble.
