A Journey Through Sexual Abuse Within a Relationship feat Liz -S2E7

In this week's episode, D.J. talks with a friend and colleague, Liz, who reached out to D.J. for help sharing her story of what it was like to be a sexual assault survivor while being in a relationship. Liz talks about an important topic we need to talk more about. Even in a relationship, you have the right to say 'no' or 'not yet' and have your boundaries respected. When that doesn't happen, shame, fear, guilt and anger can destroy you from the inside out. Liz opens up about her self-care practices which help her heal from past abuse.

Good concept but...

The background music has to go!!! I cant listen the podcast due to the musical distraction, and noise, on every story. Sorry man.

Great support for survivors

The guests on DJ's podcast have had varied experiences, but always have elements in common. Their courage in coming on the show and telling their stories is a real inspiration - there is nothing quite so important as knowing you are not alone, and that there is help. DJ is a great listener, and a wonderful interviewer (because he knows this topic so well), and his therapeutic questions and suggestions are sensitive, wise, insightful and powerful for the guest as well as for the audience. It's a tremendous gift, and a great support for male survivors. We are mostly taught that we must never see ourselves as, or admit to being a victim. DJ's podcast makes it ok, and opens the doors to help and healing. Thanks, DJ.
