On a hot summer night on July 13, 1982, three teenagers, Raylene Rice, Jill Montgomery and Kenneth Franks, were brutally murdered in Speegleville Park, near Lake Waco, Texas. That night the area was full of people, yet nobody saw the trio leave the area, no one heard any screams and no one saw any kind of commotion on the other side of the lake.
Four men were quickly arrested and in the following months, a complex criminal case unfolded, one that sparked local and national attention.
    Was an innocent man executed?

This episode includes the second murder, the story of Franki Silver. Franki killed her husband in the remote mountains of North Carolina around 200 years ago and the legend has been talked about ever since. Was it cold blooded murder? Was it a jealous rage? Or was it self defense? This is the first case we have EVER found where one person has three graves. Let us know what you think!

CRIMINAL BEATS: Our last song in the Criminal Beats series is "Franki & Johnny" which has been recorded 256 times by different artists including Jack Johnson and Louis Armstrong! The catchy tune that went on to Hollywood films as well as Broadway was known to be inspired by two very grim murders...one by Franki Baker and the other by Franki Silver. In this episode, we will discuss the first murder, Franki Baker! Her case was unfair all around, and the song didn't quite match what actually happened. But one thing is for sure, "he was doing her wrong..."

Season 5, Episode 2: The Hendricks Family Murders

Season 5, Episode 2: The Hendricks Family Murders

“The Husband Did It” is a fair assumption, given that it is almost always the case.  After the family of David Hendricks was brutally murdered in their Illinois home back in 1983, he quickly became the prime suspect despite the lack of evidence. Decades later some still believe in his guilt!

CRIMINAL BEATS Episode: It's time to take another trip to the musical dark side!
This track* by the Rolling Stones called Claudine is about the french singer and actress Claudine Longet, who never really caught a break in the spotlight, but was best remembered for fatally shooting her boyfriend, ski legend Spider Sabich in their Aspen, CO chalet on March 21, 1976.
At the trial she claimed the gun went off accidentally when he was showing her how to use it.
We'd love to hear what you think about this case. Was it an accident? Crime of passion? Planned?

*You won't find this song on their original studio albums. They recorded it for Some Girls, but couldn't include it on that 1978 album because of legal issues. The song's official release date was November 2011 on the deluxe edition of the Stone's Some Girls album.

Too much banter

Too much banter too many jokes. 9 minutes wasted of them talking about themselves. Than they made a sad attempt to joke about a crime involving a young girl not something to joke about
