Jungkook, BTS, and Popcast Cashing In On Lazy K-Pop Takes Afternoona Army: Thinky and Thirsty BTS Takes

    • Music Commentary

At the beginning of December, Popcast, a NYT music podcast featuring host Jon Caramanica (NYT music critic) and special guest Kara, positioned themselves as the "grown ups" in the room up against gremlin Stans to discuss how uh... (checks notes) Butter and Golden are a sign of a great decline.
This was a click bait power grab...so right back at ya! Alison, Lia and Megan are here to say "if you're going to go for clicks don't be lazy, don't be boring, don't be smug, and don't cherry pick your hot take data."
And don't listen to the Popcast episode unless you used to LOVE dating wannabe gatekeepers that would show you their extensive bootleg cassette collections and talk about how they loved a band back when...(sorry this triggered Lia's PTSD of hooking up with dudes that wanted to lecture her on Phish when she DID NOT CARE). Or unless you want to hear people dunk on Trolls 3 or Steve Aoki because that makes them super edgy. Or want to hear how TXT are the uh (checks notes) disappointing Big Hit baby brothers.
Do listen to us though. Because we aren't any of those things.
