The Martian (2015)
How does one improve upon a film that is largely considered to be a modern Sci-Fi classic? Maybe try de-smuggifying the main character a bit.
The Martian is directed by Ridley Scott, written by Drew Goddard and Andy Weir, and stars Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, and Sean Bean, who amazingly does not die in this film.

Great way to revel in movies you didn’t like!
If you, like me, often have that experience of hating a movie that the masses seem to love, and you can’t find anyone to talk to about it without getting into frustrating arguments, this just may turn into your cathartic release. It’s like having two best friends, but ones whose opinions you actually agree with - and when you don’t, then you get to experience the strange pleasure of getting so worked up that you’re actually yelling at at your headphones in public.
I recommend scrolling through the episodes til you see a title that left an acutely bad taste in your mouth. And if you love all of the movies on their list, go find a different podcast. Or just buy a ticket to watch Transformers 14 or whatever.

Owen and Chris offer a new view on movies that is wonderfully refreshing. I really wish the movies they write could be made in place of all these big blockbusters
