Doctor Who Flux: Survivors of the Flux Reviewed

Doctor Who Flux: Survivors of the Flux Reviewed

Is Survivors of the Flux the first disappointing episode of Doctor Who Flux? Is the Grand Serpent really the Master, or just too similar? How did Yaz, Dan, and Professor Jericho escape the quantum extraction?

Discussing an episode that jumped around and seemed to focus on the wrong story, Christian Cawley and James McLean consider all of the various story strands and wonder if episode 5 is more of a "moving the pieces into place" episode, rather than another strong installment.

One hell of a cliffhanger, though, let's face it!

Doctor Who Flux: Village of the Angels Reviewed

The fourth episode of Doctor Who Flux is Village of the Angels, the first appearance by the Weeping Angels as antagonists since 2012's The Angels Take Manhattan. But was this a return to form for the quantum-locked assailants, or did the episode suffer from inconsistent motivations for the villains?

Christian Cawley and James McLean discuss the episode, so click play to find out how satisfied they were with the episode that tells us what happened after "The Angel has the TARDIS."

Doctor Who Flux: The Halloween Apocalypse Reviewed

Doctor Who Flux: The Halloween Apocalypse Reviewed

Jodie Whittaker is back with the first part of Doctor Who Flux. The Halloween Apocalypse is part one of the six part series, which introduces not only a new villain (Swarm) but also a universal threat (the Flux) that may or may not be related to him.

Throw in some Sontarans, Weeping Angels, seven billion dog like aliens, a future friend from the past and a man on a space observatory, and you've got the beginnings of a movie-like experience. And we haven't even mentioned new companion Dan, his non-girlfriend girlfriend Helen, or Swarm's sister.

Christian Cawley and James McLean offer their thoughts about an episode that brings a whole new format to Doctor Who.

Long Time Listener

I've been listening for a long time. So long, I've forgotten when I started listening. I love you're no-holds-barred approach to reviewing Doctor Who episodes: if you think it's good and you like it, you say so. Likewise, if you thinks it's pants and you don't like it, you say so. I've always appreciated that. Keep up the good work!

Most Valued Podcast

I've tried out many Doctor Who podcasts, but this is the one that I value above all the rest for honest insight and substance. I may not always share their opinions (though I usually do), but even when we disagree they never fail to provide an interesting conversation and a well-stated point of view. This is the one I look forward to.
