Today I am speaking with Jody Dengler, owner, and operator of Sun Otter Tours. Jody turned her passion for science, history, and beautiful coastal Delaware into a one-of-a-kind touring company. Her tour company is just two years old, and Jody walks us through how she went from a certified tour-guide to starting her own emerging enterprise.
What I love about this interview is Jody's openness about the up and down ride she had starting this tour company up. She had days of self-doubt and utter madness, just like most of us who 'start-up.' But if you listen to Jody, you'll find that this lady, despite some early setbacks and misgivings, is absolutely tenacious. She knocked on doors, found collaborations in the most unlikely places (her competition!), and just kept showing up.
Jody and I also talk about the importance of creating a support team and overcoming the reluctance to ask for help. She also gives a peek into the tours she has designed for tourists and locals that go off the beaten path.
