More at www.thegivingsquare.org!  🌟 Get to know Jake! 🌟 What made you choose this career?   It's a beautiful contribution, but futures and foresight is not a career one plans for. It is a path one finds through idiosyncratic means. for me, it started with a manuscript left at the doorstep of a bookstore I started in college. Through a lot of twists and turns I found my way back to that book, and in it, behind the topic of designing new political systems, was the field of futures studies.    How can kids be better philanthropists?   The part of philanthropy that kids need to work on is to develop their understanding and connection to humans and to humanity. They should learn about diverse cultures and ways of being. They should learn new languages. They should learn about how systems work, and where they can play a positive role to steer those systems toward better outcomes—-or build new ones! They should discover their authentic (yet evolving ) selves and understand how they want to be in the world. They should embrace life, and try to do the best they can, without feeling responsible for fixing the whole world.
