Christmas is a time when we celebrate this miracle of love. A love so powerful that God disempowered himself and came into the world and made himself subject to that which He created and suffered in the hands of His creations just so He can save them from the sin that has separated them from Him. He loves us so much that He was willing to give up His only son so that He might make a way for us to be reconnected to Him in love and fellowship (John 3:16).

Christ’s greatest accomplishment, his ultimate vision, goal and purpose in life was death – the very opposite of what anyone with such divine powers would desire. That which we abhor was his passion. He became everything we don ’t want so that we might have what we need.
He set his face like a flint, like an adamant harder that a flint or stone. This means to be courageous, firm, and resolved to accomplish a certain thing in spite of all the scorn and difficulties.
