On Friday’s show, I’ll speak to Palestinian climate activist Dr. Mazin Qumsiyeh on the discussing the perseverance of his organization, Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability [1].  And, I’ll have a conversation with Mathias Rittgerott, Campaigner for the German-based NGO Rettet den Regenwald/Rainforest Rescue [2] on their latest effort to get the United Nations to stop contracting with French-based Bolloré Group in Africa.

On Friday, I'll speak to the communications director for climate policy think tank The Climate Center's [1] Ryan Schleeter on Governor Gavin Newsom's $22.5 billion climate budget and what that means for California.  We'll switch gears and speak to Global Forest Coalition's [2] Simone Lovera on their latest collaborative report entitled: "Gender Justice and Climate Action: A Feminist Analysis of Forest and Climate Policy." [3]

On today's show, we'll get an update from Oakland Institute [1] executive director Anuradha Mittal on their recent reports regarding the conservancies in Northern Kenya, the ongoing forced eviction of the Maasai in Ngorongoro region (please sign the petition) [2] and the victory against the World Bank's DBR [3] (doing business rating).  We'll end the show with some intriguing and inspiring audio from a montage [4] put together by the Oakland chapter of Youth vs Apocalypse [5].

Consequently we are caught in a system that creates and increases the damage we are causing to the planet and all its life forms.  Living in the Time of Dying dives into an exploration of what it would mean to accept the science is true.

We explore how to find the inner resources to meet the changes in ways that keep us connected to the earth, to each other and to our sacred obligations.

Director and producer Michael Shaw goes on a journey to speak to those who have the courage to say what no one else is saying and who have found the strength to bring meaning to the conversation. Interviews with: Professor of Sustainability, Jem Bendell; Dharma teacher and author, Catherine Ingram; Award winning journalist and author, Dahr Jamail and Native American Elder, author and teacher Stan Rushworth.
