Historian Ilan Pappe on Ten Myths About Israel
On today’s show, we broadcast a talk by outspoken and radical Israeli historian Ilan Pappe, who speaks about the conclusions he documents in his book Ten Myths About Israel. He examines the most contested ideas concerning the origins and identity of the contemporary state of Israel, focusing on “ten myths” repeated endlessly in the media, enforced by the military, and accepted without question by the world’s governments. For students, activists, and anyone interested in better understanding the news, Pappe delivers another groundbreaking study of the Israel-Palestine conflict.

KPFA - Voices of the Middle East and North Africa
Overall I really appreciate the efforts of KPFA to cover this very important area of the world. Unfortunately I sometimes don't listen to it because it too frequently repeats episodes without warning. Today's report on Al Jazeera's current difficulties is the first time I've seen a title and description of what this particular episode is about. I hope you continue in the future to use this model to provide some written indication of what specific area an individual episode will be covering and who will be the commentators discussing it. Oddly, perhaps, I tend to listen even to the things I think I may NOT be interested in if I have some idea about what exactly the topic will be beforehand. Written descriptions for each episode would bump up my 4-star rating to a 5. Good work overall!!
