Favourites - Why We Love What We Love

Four women. Four perspectives. In this episode of the Ladies in Power Podcast, the women explore favourites across books, movies, travel, and life experiences. What starts as a light conversation quickly reveals something deeper. The difference between what you think you love and what actually fulfils you and what it says about who you are becoming. From “bucket list” trips to unforgettable teachers, from “Are we living in a matrix?” moments to the humour of “plug your holes,” this episode challenges how and why you choose what you choose. 🤝 MEET THE HOSTS Our panel brings together professional expertise and real world experience: Meeka Caissie ~Founder of LIP, Decade Strategist for Women Dr. Mahsa Soraya ~Founder of Angel Care Dental, Dr of Dentistry Sandeep K. Loyalty, Cheating, and the Truth We Don’t Always Say Out Loud

What if loyalty is not something you have, but something you choose, again and again? This conversation felt real. Honest. A little uncomfortable at times, and deeply needed. We talked about loyalty in a way that is not black and white. Not right or wrong. Just real. Because at this stage of life, you have lived enough to know relationships are layered. You have loved, given, forgiven, maybe been hurt, maybe hurt someone, and you have learned that things are not always as simple as they seem. We opened up the question so many women carry quietly. Is loyalty even possible long term? And if someone cheats, whose fault is it, really? Not from a place of blame, but from a place of ownership. Of awareness. Of truth. We explored how easy it is to slowly disconnect without realizing it. The way routine replaces effort. The way comfort can replace presence. We talked about something that might surprise you.If your partner asked you out and you felt exhausted, how would you respond? Would you light up, get dressed, and meet them with energy? Or would you say no, without thinking twice? And over time, what does that create? We moved into the deeper layers. Happiness in a relationship. Is it something we expect from them, or something we take responsibility for within ourselves? Forgiveness. Not just saying the words, but what it actually takes to rebuild trust when it has been broken. We talked about open relationships, and whether they truly work, or if they are just another way of trying to solve something deeper. We looked at boundaries. The small moments that seem harmless. Conversations with coworkers. Travel. Flirting. The places where lines slowly blur. Are you aware of where your line is? Or are you closer to the fire than you think? We also went into trust. Do you feel safe and grounded in your relationship? Or are you walking on eggshells, trying not to trigger something, trying to hold it all together? And we did not ignore the past. Because how you were raised, what you saw growing up, the relationships you experienced in your early years, all of it shapes how you love today. This conversation also touched on desire. On connection. On the effort it takes to keep choosing each other. Can playfulness, intention, even something as simple as creating space for novelty or connection bring people back together?Or are those things only meaningful when the foundation is already strong? This is not a conversation that gives you answers. It is a conversation that invites you to look at yourself. Your patterns. Your standards. Your truth. If you are in a relationship, if you are questioning one, or if you are simply reflecting on what love means to you now, this episode will meet you there. Colourism, Comparison, and the Pressure to Measure Up

Comparison shows up everywhere in a woman’s life. Skin tone. Jewellery. Success. Social media. Even the woman you used to be. But who taught women to measure themselves this way? In this episode, the four women who make up Ladies in Power, Sandeep, Meeka, Dr. Mahsa Soraya, and Gurvinder, explore the powerful role comparison plays in how women see themselves and each other. From colourism and beauty standards to wealth, status, and motherhood, the conversation examines how society quietly teaches women to measure their worth. Skin tone, jewellery, body changes, children’s education, and the pressure of Instagram perfection all become part of the discussion. Sandeep reflects on reading the matrimonial section of a newspaper as a teenager and noticing how women were described by complexion using words like fair, wheatish, and sandish. She remembers wondering where she fit within those categories and what those labels were quietly teaching about beauty, identity, and belonging. Meeka, who spent almost thirty years working in media and public facing industries, shares the emotional experience of comparing herself to the woman she used to be. She asks a powerful question. What are you attaching wrinkles, aging, and change to? Drawing from the teachings of Tony Robbins, she reminds listeners that the meaning we attach to change shapes how we experience it. Change the story, change your life. Dr. Mahsa Soraya expands the conversation by pointing out how comparison appears in many forms, from skin tone and cosmetic treatments like botox to symbols of status such as larger diamonds. She also highlights the irony surrounding colourism. While some women try to lighten their skin, others seek the sun to darken theirs, revealing how deeply cultural standards influence the way beauty and success are defined. Gurvinder brings the conversation back to personal growth, encouraging women to shift their focus away from competing with others and toward becoming a better version of themselves. The women also acknowledge cultural icons like Pamela Anderson, Cher, and Kylie Jenner, who each represent different generations navigating beauty, aging, and public scrutiny in the spotlight. What begins as a conversation about colourism grows into a deeper exploration of psychology, identity, and the human need to feel valued. In the end, the women arrive at a simple truth. Whatever gives you peace is the answer. The rest is simply a waste of energy and time When you catch yourself comparing, whose standard are you actually trying to live up to? 🤝 MEET THE HOSTS Our panel brings together professional expertise and real world experience: Meeka Caissie ~Founder of LIP, Decade Strategist for Women Dr. Mahsa Soraya ~Founder of Angel Care Dental, Dr of Dentistry Sandeep K. Maybe I Should Just Give Up? Before You Decide, Listen In.

Have you ever whispered to yourself, maybe I should just give up? If that thought has crossed your mind lately, this conversation may feel like it was recorded for you. In this episode, the four women who make up Ladies in Power open their hearts and share personal stories about dreams they have chased, reached, missed, and reshaped. Four different backgrounds. Four different personalities. Four different relationships with ambition. Some of us dream big and accept the stretch. Others build through smaller milestones to protect confidence. Some hold a dream quietly for years, trusting timing. Others pivot and redirect when the path shifts. There is no single right way to dream. Big dreams count. Small dreams count. The only real loss is silence. We talk about embarrassment. About resilience. About what brings you back after disappointment. About loosening control without losing vision. And about the moment you realize the urge to give up can signal growth rather than failure. If you have ever wondered whether it would be easier to walk away from something that once mattered deeply, you will feel understood here. Before you give up, give us a listen. How to Set Goals and Actually Achieve Them

Most people know how to set goals. Very few know how to actually achieve them. In this episode of the Ladies in Power Podcast, we talk all things goals in our satin LIP pyjamas. It is a fun, uplifting, and honest conversation about what works, what does not, and how we encourage each other to aim high and get grandiose for the year ahead. We talk about goals we have reached and goals we have missed. Whether we give up on goals or keep adding the same ones to our list year after year. Why some goals quietly follow us, including weight loss, and how a new approach can help us succeed this time and shed the weight once and for all. We explore when it makes sense to recommit to a goal, when to change the approach, and when it is time to release it altogether. We also talk about how past experience can inform future goals without limiting what is possible. We share three ideas that can help goals work this time. Aligning goals with who you are now. Looking at patterns instead of relying on willpower. And choosing goals that support your life instead of competing with it. This episode is for women who have accomplished meaningful things and women who are still holding goals that have not unfolded yet. It is not about pressure or perfection. It is about clarity, honesty, and possibility. This is the perfect podcast to listen to while cooking, moving around the house, or travelling from place to place. Let it play while life happens around you and spark new ideas for the year ahead.
