Laser Time is a show featuring folks in the video games industry, although not necessarily about video games. It’s a hyper-silly, multimedia-infused look at film, TV, comics, music, pop culture, and nostalgia from the perspective of people who game for a living. Obviously, their opinions are their own and do not reflect that of their employers.

Forever Grateful for Laser Time

This is one of my most favorite podcasts out of the thousands that exist. I’ve learned so many interesting facts from the Laser Time network, and laughed, and felt like I was listening to my friends’ conversations about the nerdy pop culture that we all love. They’ve informed me about experiences I needed to have, such as video games to play or movies to watch, and given me a greater appreciation of the hard work that brought those things into existence.

All of the topics are researched in detail and shared with a seasoning of fun and jokes. Everyone on the podcast has something meaningful to contribute, and I like the way that the cast rotates and you get to know each of their personalities and perspectives. You can feel the friendship and history that they have together.

This was the first podcast that I discovered back in late 2013 and early 2014. I had moved away from my home and friends after 28 years of growing up in the same place and with the same people. I didn’t have a job yet, but my wife did, and Laser Time kept me entertained while I was doing chores at home and looking for jobs. I binge listened to their episodes and it helped me to cope with difficult changes; just to hear people conversing about topics of interest that I share.

The members work hard on multiple podcasts, a YouTube channel, a Facebook page, and jobs outside of podcasting. So don’t let any review comments about their publishing schedule dissuade you from keeping them on your list. As of this review, they have 379 episodes and that’s a lot of topics to cover. It’s definitely an achievement! If some episodes aren’t on a topic that interests you, well just wait a little while as you listen to something else, and they’ll have a great episode for you again soon enough. It’s only natural that with so many themes to cover, not every episode will be something a specific listener cares to hear.

The most ridiculous comment that I’ve seen in the reviews is a person that doesn’t consider a power outage an excuse for late release of an episode 🤨, even though everything required to create and publish a podcast relies on electricity to work.

Laser Time was fun, high quality content in 2013, and it’s no different in 2019. Thanks Laser Time!!! I’m grateful for all of the hard work you’ve put into informing and entertaining me.
